Excellent amp - high quality, powerful & cheap - 10/10
3 of 3 found this helpful As one would expect from Pioneer, this is a high-quality offering. What we have here is an 800W RMS 1-ohm stable amp, for a fraction over £100 (I paid £105 new, including delivery). And as mono-block amps go, this one is pretty compact, which gives you more flexibility when fitting.
First, I had it hooked up to 2 x 250W RMS "FLI Frequency 12" subs in 2-ohm mode, perfectly matching it's 500W RMS 2-ohm output, and it sounded simply awesome, even though the subs are a good few years old. It didn't even break a sweat.
Duly impressed, I then purchased and hooked it up to 2 x 400W RMS "Pioneer TS-W311D4" subs in 1-ohm mode, again matching the amp's 1-ohm output, and sure as hell this amp is more than up to the job.
I may have only had it a month, but being Pioneer, I expect to still be using it in 3 or 4 years time without any problems. The next model up, the GM-D9601, offering 50% more power @ 1200W RMS, is considerably more expensive, as are the 600W RMS Pioneer subs. If you only need in the region of 5-800W RMS (which trust me, is more than enough to rattle your car to pieces) this is the amp for you.
Final verdict: Worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone.

Does what it says on the tin! [Edit] But only for 3 weeks...
Nice small unit, and very easy to use. Conveniently also remembers last station when switched on, even when not using presets. Not very powerful at all but good for quiet areas of the home.
[Edit] Houston, we have a problem! Alas, after less than 3 weeks of use, it is as dead as a dodo. I read about many people having the same problem before buying it, but thought nothing of it. Now mine is afflicted by the same problem - no sound output whatsoever. So it would appear that the build / materials quality is very lacking and does not live up to expectations.
