'Empty skies' would have been a more appropriate title.
I so wanted this movie to be good because of my life time love of the Avro Lancaster, but unfortunately it wasn't. Learning that it was made on an extremely tight budget of just £80K, one has to admit they done a pretty good job on the production side of things. The uniforms and flight great were first rate, and the models and CGI used I'v West limited flying scenes there was were actually better than done I've seen I multi million pound blockbuster movies. How ever, the movie story line itself was centered around the crew, trying to deal with the human emitional aspect. This resulted in 90% of the film taking place either in the pub or the air base settings, with very long winded boring script that just didn't seem to go any where, despite some decent acting in the main from the cast. By the time they got to the lack luster mission at the end of the film I was bored to tears. The only reason I stuck with it to the very abrupt ending, was because I'd paid a fiver for it, so now owned it! The pasion of the film makers is evident, and it could have been a much better movie had they brought in a professional script writer. Unfortunately it fell well short of the mark for me.
