Great for the money
Neat design and feels solid and comfortable to use. Copes easily with the typical jobs like screwing into chipboard, but not tested in more demanding situations. The blade locks when no switch is depressed so you can use it manually to start to loosen a tight screw or to give it a final tighten. I found it works well with rechargeable AA batteries too, but these have to be removed for recharging - a pity it doesn't have a built-in charging circuit. But for the money it's excellent, and comes with bits for all the common types of screws.

Brilliant value, top quality.
1 of 1 found this helpful This was sold at a ridiculously low price, so I wasn't expecting top quality. But I was very pleasantly surprised! Beautifully made and finished, it fits perfectly and securely, and has the necessary internal mechanism to open and close the lens diaphragm manually when in use (by turning the "Lock - Open" ring). Off the camera, Sony "A" lenses remain fully open, but you need to be able to stop down and this provides that option. There are no preset stops so you just have to gauge the aperture by eye, but when used on the NEX range of cameras, the metering takes care of the rest.
Obviously, as there is no electronic linkage between lens and camera when using this adapter, all other functions (zoom and focus) have to be used in manual mode, too. Just like the good old days!
There are alternative adapters out there at much higher prices (some with, and some without electronic linkages), but quite honestly, I can't see why you would need to pay any more than this unless you're desperate to retain the full electronic control between camera and lens. "A" series lenses are available second-hand at much lower prices than "E" series, and with this inexpensive adapter you can expand your shooting possibilities at a fraction of the cost.
