Samsung winner
Received this unit last November in a black Friday promotion for $400. Not being an entry level commodity this had several useful features such as the upgraded -all in one- simple remote, with voice, which I have come to find is my favorite of all my remotes. Another upgrade is bluetooth which I use for headphones. The biggest improvement you can make in your picture quality when you are calibrating it to your personal bias is to go into the picture adjustments in settings and turn on the HDR button. Now this is nowhere near a real HDR level of TV display in brightness but this one setting makes a world of difference in brightness and color. I have watched tons of 4K videos and movies and I still catch myself grinning like an idiot, colors pop and detail even close up is so good that you cannot see pixels at any distance away without magnification. Consistently good experience with various Samsung products and interaction with website.

EVGA no nonsense workhorse
1 of 2 found this helpful Bought used, in great condition, benchmarked just fine. When teamed with I5 8400 it will play any game or VR at least at 1080 and 60 fps and almost always higher than that. I use with Window mixed reality on Steam crossover app for WMR (and Revive app) on Lenovo headgear. The best thing I have found to do is Google Earth VR which is fantastic and free. If you havent tried this yet in VR you are in for a treat as you zoom about anywhere on earth at any height, including street level in areas that are supported (populated areas). And it is in 3D! Anyway EVGA is known for quality and customer support, not to mention they are a USA co. No frills design, you dont need two fans and aluminum backing plate, they are mainly for appearance. I would always recommend the 6 GB model vs the 3 GB, worth the extra money, this GPU has great performance to value ratio.

I have always disliked the simple appearance of the remote and it has kept me from buying it until now. I have a coffee table full of remotes that look complex and futuristic like the samsung smart remote, but you know what?-I rather enjoy the simple functionality of the roku remote, very easy to use without looking at it and I use the voice search constantly to find content at the best price. It also has an improved wifi antenna built into the cord which greatly improves weak signal reception. I see now that the new Ultra 4661 is in several big box black friday sales at around half price $49 vs $98, it has ethernet, micro sd slot,remote finder and JBL earphones, I have never seen a better deal in electronics than that so I have to get it. Now realize that all of this content is available on the internet and you don't absolutely need a streaming device if you have a smart tv, you can download the apps. But all the added abilities together makes roku's a no brainer today.
