ShaniTech South African to UK Earthed 3 Pin Travel Adaptor Adapter BS8546 Plug

Only one we could find, thankfully it works. Lekker

This is the only South African three prong plug to UK three prong plug adapter that we could find on ebay or amazon or indeed at our local supermarkets, department stores and electrical shops. Thankfully, it works exactly as intended. Lekker. Beware the only information provided with it says it is not for use in the UK. What an cavalier indemnity! It is fitted with a 13amp fuse and is fully earthed through the correct prong. The contacts are not exposed when the adapter is not in use. The plastic is robust and doesn't appear to overheat through use suggesting it is rated correctly. I bought this for my wife and I so we could continue to use one of our wedding presents that we received in South Africa while we both live in the UK. It is being used for a Nescafé Dulce Gusto Piccolo (Red) - the South African model - and that has been operating as expected with no untoward signs so far. Although we've only been using the adapter sporadically for around a week and a half so far. Will update review if product fails markedly before expected through normal use. I haven't measured the potential voltage differences across the prongs yet or inspected the internal wiring. However, as it seems well made, correctly wired and protected with a fuse this does not seem necessary at this stage. I would highly recommend this in its current iteration but ONLY if it remains at such a low price (~£7.99?).
