Running away with the circus!
2 of 2 found this helpful I have been a fan of this excellent movie since I saw it in the theater. I loved it so much that I bought an LP, which was the color red, and I played it over and over. I can still hear the music and feel the variety of emotions, happiness, thrill, sadness, that are part of this story. (Read the original book by James Otis, which is one of the finest young adult books to truly communicate a child's perspective. Amazing!)
I showed this movie at a school when we had a circus theme and the kids loved it. It does convey the excitement of running away and doing something truly adventurous, the joy of friendships, and the sadness of loss. I would recommend this to anyone who loves adventures...and it's a must watch for every boy and girl in elementary school.
I hope we cross paths one day so you and I can talk about the movie and find out if it impressed you as much as it did me.

Amazing view of America
Sorolla was able to capture the American spirit in so many ways in these beautiful pieces. In the ocean scenes it felt like I could smell the seawater. He is much under appreciated among the many unique artists.
