Autoglym Synthetic Chamois
My Dad introduced these to me soon after they came out. At the time I thought they were expensive and couldn't be better than a real chamois. I was wrong, yes they cost more but if you look after the Autoglym you'll have it for years.
For best results keep it damp by storing it in a plastic bag then but a cap full of car polish mixed in with warm water in a bucket and you are good to go. When car is dry just buff with a soft dry cloth. Top product.

Essential car cleaning product
Use with just a capful of polish is warm water and you will build a shine on your car paintwork. I keep the cloth in a plastic bag to stop it drying out completely but I have not read that this is necessary however it does seem to extend the life of them.
