A quick, powerful read
Cheryl Strayed's language can be a bit mawkish but because the stories in her book are so personal and her replies are so thoughtful, it's easy to get over this. This is a quick but emotional read which gave me plenty of food for though. Recommended.

A good, quick read
This is Greek mythology-lite but it's great for a quick, compelling read with interesting characters.

Great for kids and adults!
I think this is technically a book for teenagers but I loved it! The character Birdy is fantastically written and entertaining, and the book doesn't shy away from the detail of medieaval life, even when it's less than pleasant. I wish I'd read it when I was 13.
