How do families manage without one?
We have one every year! Call us Luddites but you can keep your electronic gadgetry - one of these on the kitchen wall and everyone knows what they and other family members are doing every day. Smartly designed, well laid out, all round great product

Feels solid, sounds ok, bargain price
Smart looking and soundly built, it comes with a snazzy remote and decent mobile phone integration. It comes very close but doesn't quite deliver.
As an FM tuner it fares worse than the dedicated tuner it replaces, from the same aerial. DAB reception is ok but DAB is dreadfully overcompressed and largely sounds poor at the best of times.
As a network media player it's slightly cumbersome but fine, with a good range of supported formats.
Spotify Connect sounds reasonably good and works beautifully. I would point out that it doesn't use the latest Spotify SDK, meaning free users of the ad-supported service cannot use it.
It's other problem is a slightly annoying hum - from the unit not the sound output so easily drowned out once the music starts.
However, it does lots of things to an adequate standard and for this price, that is in itself a remarkable feat. There are caveats but for me at least, no deal breakers. Would only get 2* at full RRP but at £150, it's a 4.
