Fast brew with a pleasing appearance.
Pros: Brews quickly without a mess. Overfill slot in back easily seen while pouring so water will not suddenly appear on the counter. Brew basket comes out easily for washing. Lighted switch easy to see. Pot is 5 cups which is 1 cup bigger than most small brewers and is a good size to fill two travel mugs.
Cons: Drips a little while pouring if not at just the right rate. The basket swings out to fill, so if the filter is not pressed down into the basket it will fold over as you re-position the basket, and you'll get a few grounds in the pot. Both are problems you can avoid if not too bleary-eyed.
NOTE: The picture shows switch and water level window on the right side of the maker, but the one I received has both on the left side. The color in the browser is the same as the product IRL.

Five cups of coffee, fast.
9 of 9 found this helpful This is great because 4-cup makers fall short of filling two travel mugs, which this 5-cup does nicely. Brews quickly and doesn't drip a lot when pouring. Had a Kitchen Selectives 5-cup that brewed slowly and dripped when pouring. Bought this Mainstays maker for less than the price I would have paid for the replacement carafe I needed for the old maker.
