Any Intelligent Life Out There? Who Cares.

John Carpenter's hugely influential sci-fi classic sees bored astronauts travelling deep space looking for unstable planets to nuke. All is well until bomb 21 refuses to launch. The crew are forced to engage the bomb in philosophical debate to prevent it atomising them all. Alien was apparently influenced by this, the mood here is funnier, the rooms dirtier but the similarities remain.

Fab, Gear...Rare 60's chanteuse gets outing. Hi Twinkle!

Twinkle was one of those lesser known singers from the 60's. She achieved notoriety/fame with her first single Terry that w.as banned by an ever nervous BBC. Terry was no more than a cash in on the Shangri-La's ;Leader of the Pack'..but enough to get media attention. Twinkle brought out some acceptable singles, the vert best of them 'Golden Lights' as covered by The Smiths. The insert shows a postcard from Smiths vocalist Morrissey thanking her. It seems Twinkle tired of celebrity, of churning out songs...and so she departed the scene. We are left with a limited edition album containing her hits and misses..... You can spend more on the original singles....if you want. Knowing you are one in 500 people on God's Earth to own this should be enough to keep even the smuggest of us smug! Fab...and dare I say..gear!
