It's a beautiful piece of technology, that performs very well in all areas
I know that some people are anxious about buying computers from eBay, but I have to say that I have never had any problems. This is my third Macbook I have purchased from eBay. I've been a fan of Mac products for some time - I am a Unix sysadmin, and Mac is much closer to Unix than Windows. I have tried a Linux laptop before, but never quite got all of the things working on it; suspend and resume stopping trackpads working, volume controls and so on - and of course there are some programs that only work on Mac, that I have come to depend on. I was happy with my previous Mac, but it had stopped being supported by Mac OS updates, and I really wanted to be able to run the latest like Yosemite and El Capitan, and to get something with a bit more battery life and easier to carry around. The laptop arrived a day ahead of when I expected it; the laptop is spotless and unscratched, and came with a fresh install of Yosemite on. I have shown it around to friends and work colleagues; the price I paid for this saved me about £300 off the price that Apple would charge for a refurbished model of similar specification. The machine benefits from a solid state disk. This means that the startup time, and the time taken to resume from being asleep is really short. It keeps surprising me. The retina display really shows off my digital photography collection, and the machine is light and easy to carry around - even though the battery seems to last for ages. Apple claim a very long battery life, and I am always a bit cynical about manufacturers' claims, but I can use the laptop for an afternoon in very busy meetings without having to worry about finding somewhere to plug in a charger. 250GB is to be honest a little lightweight for my use, but that just means I have to manage what music and videos I carry around on the laptop and what I keep on external USB hard disks. At home, it connects into the high speed 5GHz wireless LAN, and HD videos stream without any signs of stuttering or gaps. When I bought this laptop I was a little disappointed that it doesn't have a wired ethernet built in, but an optional adapter is available. I was going to buy one, but to be honest the wifi is fast enough for most purposes. I use a Time Machine disk on USB to provide backups, which would really be the only other use for a wired ethernet connection. So far the only device I have had a problem with is my USB 3G stick, which doesn't want to work on this computer with El Capitan, the latest release of Mac OSX. I'm sure that is down to the device drivers provided with the stick, and I will be talking to my provider about that. The support for an external HDMI screen is very welcome, especially at work where we are now converting all of our conference room facilities to HDMI. This model doesn't have a DVD drive, but we use USB sticks for sharing files for presentations and so on, so I scarcely miss that either.

At this price, everyone should give their laptop a boost
My extended family rely on me to help keep their computers perky; and one thing I regularly do for their laptops is to put a little more memory in, so they run a little faster, play games smoother and avoid the dreaded disk light being on all the time. Samsung memory is compatible with most brands of computer my family buy for themselves, including Acer, Dell, Sony and Toshiba. It takes two minutes to install, and makes a real difference to the performance - and at this price it is the most affordable upgrade for your laptop.
Irrigatia SOL-C24 SMART Weather responsive Solar automatic watering system

Easy to set up and works without fuss
Works exceedingly well. I have a huge water butt which I have been using with watering cans, but this product allows me to water seedlings and hanging baskets regularly from the butt without intervention. I've put the device on a shed roof, so its first task is to draw the water up a thin pipe to gutter level, which I use to carry the pipes to the hanging baskets and down to trays of seedlings. The drippers seem to deliver the right amount of water, and I like the way it waters less when the sun doesn't shine, and works harder on warmer days.
