OK
relatively good value if bought on sale. Reasonably sharp on tripod, marginally sharp handheld especially with hdr with exposures less 1/125 even with plenty of sunlight. SEL 35f1.8 prime is sharper. Better colors comparing to SEL35F1.8

Lightweight, good image and colors
Very good for hiking, esp when weight/size matter. OK for bird watching, but Steiner Hunting 10 42 or Predator would have a better image and colors. Those are bigger and more expensive though. Recently bought Steiner Hunting 10 42 from Sportsmen Guide for $135, that was a steal. Wanted to have something smaller for hiking/backpacking, Safari was a good choice
