    Garmin Nuvi 350 NA

Great for APRS with the proper tracker
using the proper cable from Argent Data and their aprs tracker, you have a bidirectional aprs system. the ability to send your position as well as plot other aprs stations on the display. the bonus is the 2 way aprs messaging capability. this is why I bought this device. it works very well and is great for casual use in the mobile. there are other 2 way aprs solutions to be sure, but this one is my favorite 'push the button and go' package. plenty of free current maps that you can put on an sdcard and have your nuvi 'up to date'. the gps 'boots' quick and fixes quickly as well. touchscreen is easy to navigate and is solid/steady in detecting touches. nice little box.

Put this one on your "consider" list when shopping in the used market.
I'm an extra class operator active on hf to uhf. I work cw, digital modes and phone. The IC-T90A is a "good" multi band fm handi. It has a wide receiver that is fairly sensitive but in the same vein, has poor rejection. This is not a big issue where I live, I'm out in the sticks. Signals are not packed in shoulder to shoulder here. If you are in the "city" and want to scan around the entire range of the T90A, you might be disappointed at the interference/intermod. Also lacking in the receiver section is the SSB mode. As a ham radio sold to hams, the interest in the wide receiver would be aimed at listening to SSB activity rather than AM. Sure, AM is still in use on the ham bands, I work it every now and then myself. An SSB mode would allow a narrow enough window to copy CW nicely as well. Moving on. The transmitter does a fine job on all 3 transmit bands. The biggest drawback is the choice of only 2 power output levels. 3 is really the standard and 4 would be even better. The included "duckie" antenna is fine with the radio. Usually this is the case with HT radios, use the supplied antenna. With a multi band transmit and wide receiver, any antenna is a compromise. Keep that in mind. Battery drain is actually pretty good on the stock batteries and the battery "clip" while unconventional is better than the previous series. (I also owned/operated the IC-T8A). The belt clip is nifty and you can replace with a traditional style spring steel clip if you wish (not included). Unit specifications can be found online pretty quick so I'll just wrap up my thoughts on operational topics. The IC-T90A is a "good" handi to jump into 6m FM experimenting as well as the old standby of 2m FM simplex and repeater use. 70cm is also well represented in the T90. Good display, backlighting and fairly easy to understand menus make this radio one to put on your "consider" list when shopping in the used market.

Xtreme Signal HDTV Yagi Outdoor TV Antenna 70 Mile VHF/UHF (HDB91X)

80+ miles away and 24 channels
receiving tv out in the sticks isn't easy. the closest 'town' to me is halfway between springfield and st louis. i have this antenna up 40' and connected to 100' of rg11 coming into the shack then 50' of r6 to a single tv. 24 channels with no amp. i'm sure the antenna will deliver even better with an amp.
