Not great

Very tinny and cheaply made--there are better values. Might be okay just to have some amplified sound (voice) but not for music. It wasn't worth it to send back, so I'm giving it to Goodwill for a tax deduction.

King Lear [DVD] [1971]

Peter Brook and Paul Scofield do a gritty, authentic Lear, filmed entirely in Denmark ca 1970

One of the best King Lear versions. Gritty and unsettling. I love the "O reason not the need" speech to the daughters, who glare at Lear like coiled snakes. This DVD is impossible to find in the US, I bought this one from the UK and converted it from the European format to mp4 on my PC.
