Ventilation with the flick of a switch
This is the second set of these I’ve bought – to put it in a nutshell they are fantastic. In our kitchen we have a 600mm wide worktop and behind that a 500mm wide window sill, so opening the top hung opening windows wasn’t easy. I made a pole which I could use but my fiancée found it difficult. I searched on ebay and found these beauties so bought two. Fitting them to our uPVC windows was a breeze – after I removed the existing handles I re-used the screws and the instruction manual is fairly easy to follow. There is even a sticky label in the box showing the screw positions so if you fix that to the window frame all your fixing holes will be spot on. The electrical wiring was no problem either. I fed the mains power to a light switch to control the actuator – flick the switch down and the window opens, flick the switch up and the window closes. There is a small dip switch which can be accessed via a removable and cap – this controls how far the window opens with a choice of two settings – 180mm or 380mm. I chose 380mm but found this too much so reverted to 180mm. When you operate the switch the power cuts off when the window reaches the correct open / close position so there isn’t a constant feed going to the actuator. I believe these are available in black or white casing with a silver coloured chain. They seem to be very well made and I guess they would last for many years. Oh, and as far as noise there is hardly a sound when the chains are moving. Having fitted two of these to our kitchen windows I have now ordered another two to install in our sitting room. These things are quite expensive but in my opinion worth every penny.

Spray it again, Sam
1 of 1 found this helpful Spray chalk is the way to go. All too often bowls can lie at an angle and spray chalk lets you mark them without actually handling the bowl. I’ve never actually moved a bowl while marking it with an ordinary stick of chalk but why take the chance? It’s small and easy to use and I’d strongly recommend all bowlers to have at least one of these in their bag / locker.

extremely reliable
I have a vast experience in external memory which I have been using since all formats appeared on the market. Having tried and tested many I have come to the following decision. If I am buying an external hard drive it will be Western Digital, for usb sticks it’s Kingston and sd cards Sandisk. Now, I’m not saying these makes are the best available – what I can say though is that they are extremely reliable. I have never had any of the above fail or let me down in any way and will only buy products from those manufacturers – even if they cost more than other makes available. I have mostly used external hdd’s and usb sticks but now that those electronic gadgets we use are getting smaller while the available capacity is getting bigger we are having to purchase micro sd cards to store our data. If you are looking for a micro sd card then I would advise you to go for Sandisk – you will not be disappointed.
