A modern classic
This is a under-appreciated masterpiece from American Beauty director Sam Mendes , from the excellent performances all round , to the stunning cinematography and its beautiful , haunting score from the always excellent Thomas Newman.
If you've never seen this , treat yourself to a gangster classic that's up there with Coppola's The Godfather 1+2 and Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America.

A work of genius
For anyone interested in the story of Dracula and its transition to the silver screen , look no further than this excellent volume.
In my view , this is the definitive account of the immortal count , and its sometimes laborious journey into becoming an icon of popular culture.

A wonderful introduction to classic horror.
As an avid reader of most books about the golden age of classic Hollywood horror , i can heartily recommend this concise , well written and informative work on the genre.
Each film has its own chapter dealing with plot , production and crew , interspersed with lots of information and critical viewpoints.
All in all , an informative , well-researched title , a must-have for any classic horror buff.
