I first found this book while visiting the Pays Cathare region of France and found this book just right in terms of length for understanding the history and architecture of the area, while not being over verbose. Good pictures and diagrams make it a very accessible text for most ages, and gave a greater appreciation for what life would have been like in these edifices on top of cliffs.
