Allows Amazon FireTV to play DTS audio through optical cable
The Amazon FireTV (2015) connected to my Vizio TV would only passthrough Dolby Digital and DD+ audio to my older non-HDMI Pioneer receiver via optical cable from the Vizio TV. With DTS there was no audio from the optical cable. With this Gefen box I can now get DTS audio (and it works with DTS-MA core audio) to my receiver via optical cable. So, I now get surround sound from all sources, including movies with DTS audio on my NAS that are streamed over the network through Kodi (SPMC), which I"ve sideloaded on the FireTV box.
