Powerful and Emotive Music
The CD itself has great sound quality and the liner notes are very informative. The music of course is superb. I was unfamiliar with this piece even although I have all of Sibelius other work. It is very powerful and emotive.

Compelling and informative.
A comprehensive account of part of the 1915/16 Gallipoli Campaign. Well researched, the narrative follows the landing on Gallipoli of the "River Clyde," the men who manned her and the men who landed on V beach via the ship. It is a saga of horror and bravery in equal measure. This aspect is covered in other histories of Gallipoli but not in such comprehensive detail. One criticism; the author was unable to correctly identify the birthplace of the ship and in a book specifically about her, that is crucial. Hence 4 stars rather than 5.

Eric Coates as he should be heard.
This is a well produced double CD of superb music, some of it conducted by Eric Coates himself. The overall feel is very warm and of it's time, not clinical as some modern digital recordings can be.
If you like Eric Coates then you are in for a treat.
