Peak Design CB-8L Long Clamping Bolts x2 for Mounting Capture V2 on Thick Straps

Problem solver for mounting the Peak Capture on thick shoulder strap

I originally bought the Peak Design, Capture V2 for use with my Messenger bag to free up more internal storage. However, when travelling, I only take my rucksack. The thick shoulder strap padding forced me to mount the Capture low down on the strap, which inhibited my arm movement when walking, (I must have looked like John Wayne with the wide arm swing - not good!) nor was it particularly easy to release the camera from that position. Long clamping screws to the rescue! The camera can now be carried higher up on the shoulder strap making it more accessible and less obtrusive. The screws are made to Peak Design's familiar high standard and the threads appear to be coated in a 'dry' lubricant, which is worth maintaining. I find a light coat of spray chain wax is sufficient and is easy to prevent from contaminating clothing.

I had to change one of these components on a well used door but they are cheap and easily fitted so no complaints.
