I alive Comics, especially ethnic centered stories, but one of my first favorite characters is Batman. Funko pops are my latest interest mostly comic characters, some tv, pop, Amy Winehouse is one of my prizes along with my Prince collection. Basketball, pro until and through March Madness, music ( eclectic taste) tv series sci fi, comic, fantasy. Love to dance and watching choreography videos. Like to write poems, short stories and long FB posts. Just livin, lovin and enjoyin life.

The Crew variant cover
I like the feel of the characters huddled together, showing a bond, a unity. The extreme " cartoonish" feel to the art, the dark, stark colors, make for an interesting and fun cover.

A classic is born
2 of 2 found this helpful I follow the neo soul station on AOL at times, looking for new music and artists. When John Legend burst on the scene I was one of the first to sing his praises and waited impatiently for his debut album. Well, when I heard a cut from Ledisi's Soulsinger CD, I knew she would be an artist I needed to take a second look at. I searched and searched for the Soulsinger CD only to find it was out of print. When I finally found a used copy for sale on Ebay I did not hesitate to bid on and win it. This has to be one of the best music purchases I made all year(and this CD is 3 years old); that means, to me, a timeless serving of the new sound of soul music that portrays all that is good in this genre and all soul music yesterday, today and tomorrow. Ledisi has a voice that would sound good in an old smoke filled jazz bar in New Orleans, raspy at times, controlled, strong, gentle, and then all of a sudden very, very big and bold. Ledisi hits you with the low down funky fun vocals reminiscent of Jill Scott or Angie Stone,then adds a little Al Jarreau scat, some wonderful and timely vocal runs with music pushed by a band that compliments her and at the same time gives the impression that its strength has yet to be examined. Ledisi Soulsinger is a CD that will leave you wanting and waiting for more from an artist that is destined to soon hit the music industry and the world like a nuclear explosion, with the fallout lingering for decades to come. Check out the cuts Livin in Ya' Head, Take Time, Coffee, Free Again. This woman is an exceptional writer and singer and needs to be heard....NOW. Listen and be pleased, soothed, touched and healed.
