Experience with MINI-WHIP HF,VLF active RX antenna,
From personal experience, I have found that this product performs excellently when mounted on a non-conductive mast, coax grounded to an efficient ground-splike and with a good quality power supply.
It frequently outperforms my 20M long-wire antenna, which itself is generally quite satisfactory and performs well.
For the record, my mini-whip is mounted on an 8M high mast in a rural area and grounded via a copper-bonded spike,about 1M into the earth and using RG58 coax to the receiver.
The supplied transformer (grounded using a cold-water copper rising main pipe) is powered via a 13.8V 5-7 Amp quality psu.
There may be better available, but I do recommend this product,-and must emphasize that the way it performs largely depends on how it is set up (before blaming the product make sure you have done it right!).
