Audio quality
I am not reviewing this for video, I bought it as a replacement for a Yamaha sacd/dvd player. As far as sound quality, it is excellent for the money. I am not comparing this to an oppo, or anything else that is above the 200.00 mark. For the money I paid the sound quality is far beyond my old Yamaha. Well worth what I paid for sacd and cd sound quality. It is connected to a Denon avr3806, paradigm studio 20’s bi-amped, with Paradigm cc-450 and Adp rears. Zu audio interconnects on this component. I used the same interconnects, and compared the old Yamaha with this unit using Fleetwood Mac Gold Dust Woman as a reference, the Pioneer won hands down. The cowbell imaging was much more precise and guitar licks were much more detailed.
