Confusing and needlessly difficult.
It locks, that's for sure. But oof - I don't care for these. For starters, mine didn't come with the "included tool" to remove the old bushing. Thankfully the new tuners fit just fine. But I did notice after briefly tuning by ear, a couple of them wouldn't stay tuned. And when I was done with all of them, there was so much tension a couple frets began to sprout.
The locking mechanism itself is confusing and needlessly difficult. Unlike normal locking tuners, with the knob on the back, these require tuning the pegs again and again until the locking mechanism takes over, locking them, but you still have to keep turning the peg again and again.
Rather pointless since locking tuners are supposed to help with the ease of tuning, right?
Gotoh had a swing and a miss with this one.
