good value hinges nice and strong
Bought these for a pair of gates in the garden and they have done a great job. Good value. TIme will tell how good the galvanising is but it looks okay.

Good in places poor in others
Good strong motor and reciprocating mechanism, but some parts that I expected to be made of metal - e.g. the footplate - are in fact made of plastic and I am not sure how long this is going to last. The footplate also flexes and does not lock into place very positively which is a problem because then the blade does not stay perpendicular to the foot plate to ensure the angle of the cut is consistent. Furthermore the quick change blade mechanism seems a bit flimsy and I suspect the blade would quite easily fly out of it during use. Finally, the instructions sent out with the jigsaw are for some other model, not for this saw, and subsequently are of little use. Overall I'm disappointed and wish I'd bought another black and decker instead.
