The Journey to the East - hugely under-rated book
Absolutely *fabulous* book. So short you could hardly believe it's a serious book on picking it up. And the first 40 pages are an introduction from Tim Leary, the actual boook is under 80 pages in length!
Beautifully written, erudite, so concise, and not at all lacking in humour nor emotion.
This book is packed full of useful hints for anyone seriously interested in psychology, metaphysics, self improvement, religion.
You might have to think a little, or a lot (...and read more widely) to pick up on everything that is here!

Interesting take on Ouspensky from Colin Wilson
Short book, well-written and lucid. Interesting for any student of the Work, psychology, philosophy, religion, self-help. IMO Colin Wilson charts a useful line between skepticism and openness to unconventional ideas, as in some of his other works.

A must-read book for anyone interested in personal development & the big picture
This is a carefully researched not to mention thoroughly lived compendium of knowledge old and new, and moreover a great, dogma-free practical manual that both encompasses and surpasses the tired Trinity of religion, psychology, & self-help. Read it once for the knowledge it contains, keep it for its incredibly rich bibliography & sources list, best of all make it your practical handbook and set about discovering the less obvious possibilities of this life you've somehow been landed with. Probably the most useful book I've ever come across.
