Works well - poor reviews are from people who haven't assembled them properly

They work perfectly well when assembled correctly, if the loose end of the strap is fed through from under the cam buckle housing and then under the teeth of the buckle and exits in the same direction as the long end of the strap it will tighten the cam buckle to the strap when under load. If fed through the other direction it will loosen the buckle and slip. Unfortunately there are no instructions on the packaging.
