This is an excellent collection of Stravinsky work - interpretted to perfection!
I was introduced to the work of Stravinsky in the early 1970 via Progressive Rock music and ever since I have been a big fan of Firebird. Having heard excerpts from the Rite of Spring on occasions I found the work to be not particularly accessible.
Yet, here, while still acknowledging there are still less accessible overtones, occasionally, I found the entire collection of pieces to be a riveting listen.
I have Rite of Spring on several cd's and would highly recommend this Naxos CD collection - as, there is just some magical element to this that I find completely fascinating! But it, Listen, enjoy!!!

Safe, secure, easy to set-up. Excellent QED quality!
I purchased this to switch between 3 different pairs of Hi-Fi speakers to suit my listening requirements at each listening, and to compare different speaker systems.
QED rightly has a great reputation for 'high-end' Audio products and this switching unit certainly is no exception to that.
Easy to use with most high quality speaker cables - terminals are screw in, and work as they should. The Transmatch feature is what drew me to this switching unit to ensure the correct load is placed on the the output of whatever relevant amplifier (e.g. 8 Ohm) I attach this unit to, and even if I wish to have all 3 pairs of speakers at the same time.

Symphony No 5 and Bernstein are Simply Sublime: Buy, Listen, Relax & Enjoy
This is a review for: Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic, with the July 1979, Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo recording of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5. - SONY SMK66937 (1995)
The music of Shostakovich can be difficult to listen to at times, but I would like to say that the work of Bernstein and the NYP recorded in Japan in 1979 is totally sublime.
Paired with the Symphony No 5, on this re-release CD of previously issued material is the work of Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and their May 1982 recording, featuring Yo-Yo Ma with the Shostakovich Cello Concerto No 1. - it makes this CD an essential if you do not have the original releases.
In addition, this SONY SMK66937 version is part of a Digital series of re-recordings and features exceptionally high standards of transfer to digital and associated production values.
I can certainly recommend this CD for the Bernstein work alone, it is certainly an essential insight to the standard of work Bernstein produced at the time, and the live recording only adds to this intrigue and value even further.
