Exact replacement for stock Pontiac G8 radio antenna
This perfectly matches the stock radio antenna. Great value, and a great replacement for an old deteriorated stock antenna mast.

Birds of Prey, a movie from my distant past, now on DVD
1 of 1 found this helpful I saw this movie on TV when it first ran in the early 70's. I was probably about 12. I became fascinated with helicopters watching this film, and immediately went out and bought a Hughes 500 military helicopter model kit. In fact, I built 2 or 3 of these, I thought they were so cool, and the flimsy landing gear would get broken from playing around with them. Anyway, the movie really made an impression on me. The aerial cinematography and the wonderful scenes of that chopper chasing the bad guys, doing silly but spectacular stunts with a real helicopter made for great TV. Nearly 40 years later, the movie holds up surprisingly well, except for the very limited computers and communications they had back then. No CGI, just stunt pilots doing what they always did so well, and real cinematographers, shooting it all, and not one computer-processed pixel to be found. Y'know, it's amazing how many storylines from great movies made before the advent of the cellphone simply would not have happened if they had only had that technology. But I digress...
The story ends on a sad note, with Janssen's character flying into the bad guy's chopper to save his cop friend. Kind of empty, really. It reminded me of Kowalski crashing that wonderful white Challenger into the bulldozers at the end of Vanishing Point. Leaves you asking the question, "why"? The cop should have just gotten his fat ass out of the way in the first place.
There is one disappointment with this release, and that is in the music soundtrack. There are some scenes with 40's big-band music playing, and you can see Janssen mouthing words that you can't hear, and that don't go with the music. For some reason, this was a bad overdub, possibly from something in the original film master being lost along the way. In the original, he was happily singing the "three little fishies" song along with the tune playing over the cockpit radio, as he was flying along. "...And they swam and they swam all over the dam". It may not sound like much to lose, but I'd really love to see this film with all that audio restored, because it gives the film a very disjointed feel, and screws up yet another aspect of a fond childhood memory for me. I was hoping that this DVD release would have the original audio, but alas, I was disappointed. It's the reason I only gave the "good" rating, and not an "excellent" one.
The first thing I ever flew in was a helicopter, an old piston-powered one with big water pontoons. We used to be able to rent one for a $20 ride at Panama City Beach in Florida during summers, and get to ride with former war pilots, taking a tour of the beach by air. I was inspired to take my first helo ride by this movie, Birds of Prey. It was the coolest feeling ever, taking off in that loud, open cockpit chopper.
I never became a helicopter pilot, but this movie sure did inspire a lot of those dreams in a young boy. Watching it again after so many years woke those dreams up again. Great fun.

A brilliant update to the Phottix flash trigger design!
This is the flash trigger Phottix should have made to start with. On the Sony platform, my cameras have the older Minolta style flash shoe, so I did need a $20 Sony adapter to adapt from the new Sony ISO shoe on the base of this flash trigger to my older Minolta-style legacy shoe. But with that adapter, it works perfectly!
