A worthy repair!
Having only recently purchased my MX5, I can safely say this has vastly improved the car!
The old aerial was completely snapped off, but I could still hear the motor running. Being eager to restore my motor to reasonably original spec I knew I needed to fix it. The motor was still trying to run, so only an aerial was needed, and at a massive saving vs £60 for an untested, 2nd hand complete unit!
Be warned, this is not always an easy replacement. Sadly the old geared cable had pulled out completely, requiring total disassembly of the motor housing.
If your aerial is still working though, this will be a much easier repair! The unit comes complete with very clear and easy to follow instructions, making the whole fix possible in 1/2 hour.

Amazing little unit
2 of 2 found this helpful Ok, initial confession, I've only used this flinger twice so can't speak for longevity. I have been warned that various electrical components will likely give out with time. But all good so far.
This unit, for its cost, greatly exceeds what I was hoping for. It can easily out-throw my old bowman manual unit for speed and distance (but not quite up to the spec of my retired-engineer jobby made with a lorry spring!).
For a leisure shooter like me this trap is just the thing to keep me entertained. Twinned with a remote unit, an old car battery and a wheel barrow this unit is easily transported out to a field for a casual shoot.
Recovering the unbroken clays (more than I'd like) is also much easier due to the consistency of throw; they all land remarkably close together.
If you are a casual clay shooter, this trap is great value for low quantity use. However if you're a little more serious you should look to one of the bigger name electric traps for component quality.

Robust but compromised
I got this to complement my expanding Makita 18v range, as a useful tool to have when I can't be bothered to run an extension lead. And to it's credit it does just that.
However, do not expect top level performance; this vacuum is sadly lacking in suction. I had hoped to do away with the old domestic unit I keep in the shed, but sadly this battery unit can't compare to even that cheep old piece of kit.
the build quality is good. The plastic feels strong and could easily withstand being bumped about. The dust is easy to empty and the 2 filters help to gather lots of dust and can be shaken out with ease. It's possible that removing the finer particle filter will increase the suction rate at the cost of motor life. I might actually try this now I've thought of it...
In summary, this a handy unit for infrequent use, but don't expect Dyson level performance.
