Just what I wanted...
I have to say I was unsure whether to go for this because of so many negative reviews on Apple's site; but I have not been disappointed.
Great quality picture, works perfectly with my new MacBook Pro 15" Touchbar via Thunderbolt 3.
A complete breeze to set up - basically plug and play. One cable from screen to laptop (via Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock which I would recommend too as it allows for further connectivity like ethernet) also charges the laptop. So very simple to use MacBook as desktop or unplug as portable; and when plugged in can have MacBook open to provide dual screen or shut to just use this monitor (with Apple keyboard and trackpad).
Another reason I went for this is the built in webcam which works with FaceTime etc and the internal speakers are better than expected - nothing spectacular sound-wise but more then adequate for everyday use.
All in all very happy.
