Endeavour Fires Danby Electric Fireplace in an Off White MDF fire suite

Nice product but components are let down by poor quality control.

Having read other people's reviews I thought I knew what to expect, however when assembling the Endeavor Danby MDF suite surround (mantel), it became apparent that the instructions didn't exactly match up with the practical build in several places, this was understood and eventually overcome. The main disappointment was with the large front bottom panel marked as 'H' it appeared to be constructed out of 2 separate pieces which are joined together (probably glued), when attaching to the left and right side panels there was a 5-6mm gap on the left side top piece, which on closer examination was due to the right hand panel bottom piece being the same 5-6mm too long, in order to rectify this I had to plane the right side bottom panel down so it would both fit together and then fit in to thebase panel. This has left an unsightly tear in the covering material which I now need to rectify somehow! Also, a couple of joining holes to marry the front top panel top the top panel are 5mm out and I needed to re drill them. When fitting the actual fire, which I haven't even tested yet, out of the 4 fixing brackets, only the top 2 line up with the fixing holes in the rear of the mantel side panels, this is no big deal as I can simply use alternative screws for the bottom brackets. Overall I think that if these quality issues were rectified it would be a brilliant product and look great, but unfortunately for me in this instance, not so.
