Jabberwocky - a PG really???

My son is studying the jabberwocky at school and as we love Monty Python and the like we thought that this would be a real treat for him to watch, it states its a PG and so we thought it would be ok... my son is not squeemish, at 9 he has seen many a decent film but there were tons of mangled body bits and nudity at times. That alone would not be a problem but he said it was boring, it took so long to get going and when it did it was over so quickly. This is a nice film to watch if you like Terry Gilliam and are an adult but not really a hit for kids...
