For those who aspire to creating professional and realistic bird art
1 of 1 found this helpful An inspiring book with six wonderful bird drawings to emulate. Covers equipment, how to watch birds and build up reference materials, format, backgrounds, scale, colour/tones, lighting, shadows, setting, work order and the tracing and compositional arrangement of each element. He then goes on to give a clear step by step guide of how he created each bird picture. My only criticism is that as a newcomer to graphite and coloured pencils I personally would have preferred a more detailed description on how to make the marks and build up the layers. Yet despite being unfamiliar with the media I have been quite happy with my results and have no hesitation in recommending this book. It's great fun and it has given me lots of ideas!

An inspirational and truly remarkable account that got me hooked on dragonfly conservation. I would thoroughly recommend this book to all nature lovers.
