Little Brother to the SL 1300/1500
Similar to the Famous SL 1500 albeit without the heavy cast aluminum plinth and larger motor structure. To deliver performance, the D2 has a resonance dampening resin bottom cover that nearly doubles the weight of the unit! Superior to entry turntables like Pro-Ject, Teac and the nicer Crosley's. Begs to be heard!
Simply a very quiet pressing. Absolutely no clicks or pops! I will now seek to buy the whole 2008 reissue pressings and park my 40+ year old originals. The engineer kept things rather conservative, unlike later reissues. It sounds like Pete, Steve, Tony, Phil and Mike are right in my living room, something the CD pressing can not do!
