Comprehensive and clear for native and non-native students
This Oxford publication nicely fills the gaps left by the general dictionaries in their definitions of literary terms. As well as the more common terms it covers the the most obscure terms, accompanied in most cases by clear examples. The presentation style means it is suitable for both native English speakers and those learning the language intensively.
Bonsaii 4S30 micro-Cut Paper shredder, Office supplies Continuous operation

    Astonishingly good!
After several years of using a reliable Fellowes shredder I decided to upgrade for disposing of around 30 years of bank statements. On paper the Bonsai offered to shred to about a quarter of the size of the Fellowes output, and in practice it is quite astonishing to see how good a job it does while still being below the ultimate secure shredding standard. In short, it will take anyone going through a sack of Bonsaii-shredded paper a year or two to roughly piece something together that is probably impossible to decipher much in any case. Having had this for about a month it is not possible to say anything about reliability but it does appear to have been well thought out through having a cooling fan coming into operation when needed after heavy use, and producing perhaps half the noise of its predecessor. I am not sure about the long-term use of touch-sensitive controls but they are basic Standby and On so not much to go wrong. In any case, I just leave it on by using the back switch. Mine came with a Continental 'kettle lead' but that was no issue as I always hang on to those as spares from any electrical equipment that goes wrong. A clip-in tray catches material through the credit card slot but I haven't tried it as yet although it seems to be a deliberate eco-move to separate plastic and paper. Paper clips cause no issues at all in the main slot. Use a wide-brimmed plastic bag when emptying the bin because those shredded particles are very small. Overall, I am delighted with the results so far and no qualms at all about the security of using this machine at this level.
Contour RollerMouse Red plus S/N 59024486

    Best anti-RSI device
I have used various types of mice to stave off RSI after seeing what it can do to colleagues forced to take months off to ease pain or even resort to surgery. First move is to install whatever auto-click programme suits your computer and next to use a Rollermouse as I have done for around 8 years. The first out were a bit more robust than later versions but the Red Plus version eliminates the annoying lack of travel that mean't two sideways moves to work on a 28-inch screen so I am very happy with the latest designs (if not the list price). If you can afford one it is a good investment in coping with existing RSI or keeping it at bay. Bear in mind that not all the shortcut buttons may work with a Mac but the key anti-RSI principles are still well worth the benefit. And, of course, some long-term keyboard warriors don't take to the change which is presumably why secondhand examples turn up with virtually no use. Be patient and you will benefit.
