An essential and definitive background history to Jerusalem and its people
I bought this book as I am shortly going to Jerusalem and knew next to nothing about the city or its history, other than the obvious biblical connections. Not only is this an excellently produced volume with good photographs and notes, but it is a fantastic read. Simon Sebag Montefiore knows an extraordinary amount about Jerusalem and has done formidable research. It is not a lightweight book, either physically or intellectually but is the most impressively comprehensive history of the city and its setting in the Middle East as well as the multifarious occupants and conquerors involved in its far from peaceful story. If you are the slightest bit interested in the history of Jerusalem and its people, regardless of your religion (or lack of religion), then this is a must.

Efficient but tricky to fix
This window opener does work well once you've got it installed.... It says it is easy to fit but certainly as regards putting it on an aluminium greenhouse I would take issue with that. You need at least two pairs of hands and it is not that easy to tell from the instructions how to fix it and even when you've worked it out, it is extremely fiddly to screw on. That said, once fixed, it does seem to work excellently well.
