Captivating sequel to "Wolfskin" a Viking tale set in Scotland
Juliet Marlier captured my attention from the first page. Couldn't put it down. I became really immersed in this tale of adventure and intrigue in the Scottish isles, it was on fantastical in places but was so believable. Enchanting. Can't wait to read more by her.

exciting new recipes for slow cooking
I bought the recipe book because we had just acquired a big slow cooker. Our thinking was that as my husband and I sometimes have to eat at different times, due to job commitments,we thought we could put the cooker on in the morning, leave it to bubble away and then, come the evening, we each could dip into it as we arrived home and neither of us would be eating a cold or dried up dinner. The cooker came with only a very basic, unexciting recipe book, so we looked on line to find a better one. The first recipe we tried was gorgeous.... pumpkin and carrot cobbler. We are not veggies but we like veggie recipes sometimes and I have an allotment so this was perfect and so tasty. There are recipes for everything from soups and starters to desserts and even chutneys, conserves and drinks... haven't tried these yet but am looking forward to trying the conserve recipes particularly. The layout is easy to read, the pictures are bright and informative and the ingredients are not hard to find in a supermarket. It is not cordon bleu but very interesting wholesome cooking, just right to come home to after work. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
