Golden oldie that still delivers 1st rate results
I resisted the temptation to upgrade the operating system on this ‘golden oldie’ to Windows 10, preferring instead to keep it running under Windows 7 which is very stable and reliable and ensures all the right ‘drivers’ are available. As a result I have a fast, i5 equipped, tough reliable machine which never fails to deliver. Its keyboard is great too, better than that of my MacBook, Pro. I bought the optional extended slim line battery to extend the operating time, this was bought elsewhere on eBay for a paltry £12. The result is a fast portable which runs for up to 10 hours at a time on batteries, and delivers the performance of a medium range desktop PC. All this for under £200 - marvellous! It puts today’s ‘rash’ of Intel Atom based mini laptop machines to shame! Buy one, you’ll love it!

Low shutter r count on a very high end DSLR - whats not to liike! 😁
4 of 4 found this helpful When this camera first came out, I ordered one, but there was a supply delay, so I got my hands on its lesser brother the D600. Which I must say, has been a wonderful instrument to use, but I still yearned afr the extra 12MP the D800 could deliver. This camera was advertised on ebay with an impressively low shutter count at a low price. I could’nt resist buying it. The results from it, when used with good quality lenses are astounding. Richly coloured, sharp, and with beautiful gradation. I have only printed A2 sized images from it so dar, but they have been outstanding. The D800 produces Medium Format quality images in a compact, feature packed body You can selectively enlarge from small portions of the image, and still produce high quality images too. I finally feel as if I have arrived at, or even surpassed, the quality I used to get from my favourite super sharp film, Kodxachome 25.

An excellent wide to med tele for full frames.
One of the best short range zooms Nikon ever computed. Non VR but fast enough for most photography, and this lens also features a useful macro function. I love it. It's never coming off my Nikon D800. As it fully resolved the detail a 36mp DSLR can deliver.
