Let us Pray
have been trying to get this book for ages. At last a supplier who had it. Delivery was quick and the product has filled a gap in my library which I have been trying to do, very uplifting and highly recommended

Stomu Yamashta
This was one of the first classic avante garde LPs I purchased in the early 1970s. I was aware of Henze and has a number of his albums and was just getting into Maxwell Davies. I had just been introduced to Yamashta via a concert in Bangor, North Wales and had been blown away by his virtuosity on almost any percussion instrument you wish to mention. All 3 pieces on this album were written specially for Yamashta and they are a perfect introduction to his talents, which grew in many other areas following this album. I recall Prison Song having a major impact on me, both visually and musically. Although the music is quite demanding and difficult to get into for the run of the mill taste, it is well worth persevering, give it a try. Well worth the wait to reacquaint myself with the music on CD.
