Vikings in the New World, Iceland & Greenland
Paradigm shifting book - reconsiders Vikings although his following book, The Farfarers, was truly eye-opening for me! Who knew Vikings were major slave traders capturing folks in the now British Isles & along the Atlantic seaboard & selling them as far away as Middle East & Asia!

Clever takes on every topic!
Read aloud to my husband & we both laughed & chuckled all the way thru it! Took almost a week reading a few chapters nightly - immensely entertaining!

Great History - but get a more modern printing on thinner lighter paper stock!
Book great history of France in 1400s - didn't realize this copy would be so old & yellowed - we'll see if my sinuses & allergies clear up now that I am not reading it - & on such heavy paper that the volume's weight would make reading it painful on my arthritic thumbs & hands.
