A favourite.
One of those reliable items that does its job so well that you never think about it: an added bonus is that it looks good, is sturdy and well made with no splintery or rough edges.

Definitely the best of the best. You will not be disappointed.
This is one of those wonderful items that does its job, quietly, unobtrusively and efficiently.
The waste bin is a style statement of good taste and apart from the occasional dusting and emptying one never needs to think of it.

Absolutely fabulous, so pleased I've finally found a reasonably priced copy
I bought this book because of dreadfully poor health and as a last resort, I am changing to a raw wholefood organic vegan diet. This particular book is rarer than hens teeth and I have been trying to get a copy for over a year now. I like this book because it gives the information and recipes in a straightforward simple way. Its written by people who have a life and cook to eat, even the long recipes are relatively quick and straight forward. If there are any drawbacks its because some recipes rely on machines. Having a juicer and food processor/blender does help. However, when you eat a raw vegan diet then these machines are more a necessity than a luxury. My juicer cost about £30, I wasn't sure I would use it much and the thought of paying out £400 plus was prohibitive. On my bad days I can throw stuff in the juicer and still have enzyme and nutrient rich healthy food instead of falling back on toast. Likewise with the food processor and blender - its about canny shopping to get what one needs at an affordable price.
I am thoroughly enjoying using this raw food book, it's one of the best I own. It is American, so the book is in American English, this is a point to bear in mind if you can't translate between the two. For example, Scallions are spring onions or as some supermarkets insist on calling them "salad onions": cilantro is coriander, eggplants are aubergines, zucchini are courgettes. I am sure you could Google any unknown veg eg rutabagas, but if I am not sure, I use common sense and choose a veg I think will fit in with the dish.
The book is well laid out and unusually the dishes are not sorted into lunches, dinners etc but in American, Mexican, etc. I rather liked this quirky method of sorting the recipes. The instructions are clear and comprehensive although please bear in mind I have been cooking since I was three and used to read cookery texts in English and French for recreational purposes. I know its rather sad, but relatively harmless. The point I am trying to make in a long winded fashion is that for me it was simple, however I think it would be for anyone else. Unless one needs instructions such as this is a chopping knife and this is a measuring cup/jug then this book is as near perfect as it can be.
