I had to replace my older (approx 4years) WD 2TB drive as it siezed up and stopped everything else from working including device manager to stip the processes. Important that I got my stuff backed up before the laptop packed in too. Couldn't find anything on the net about how to cure the problem. So I have another WD drive full of records but no way of getting it out.
