An even-handed, biography of Simon Bolivar
Most biographies of Simon Bolivar seem to be written (or the one's I've read in any case) by people who truly worship him. There are no examinations of his failings and the times he made decisions that were morally wrong. This book is a look at everything about the Liberator. It is compelling, enheartening and, also a little sad. The scholarship here is as solid as the writing.

As simple and concise as you can make such a book.
I basically purchased this as a reference and to teach myself simple written Latin. So far so good. It was inexpensive and is pretty easy to follow.

The pinacle of graphic novels.
Probably the best graphic novel I've ever seen. Transcends most of what we see in the genre. Tt recalls works like Watchmen, Persepolis, Maus but is unique even in this context. I am, of course, not saying anything that hasn't been said before.
