I meant to give it five stars
I meant to give it 5 stars but my hand slipped when typing and eBay doesn’t seem to allow edits after the fact. Oh well, God knows l love love love this little book! It opens up a new way of thinking about how in the world to be content, and even live a wondrous life daily, while still acknowledging global suffering and injustice. It can refresh and restore those who have mistaken their own plans and efforts for God’s, and are burnt out from good works or from efforts at personal peace through escape and distractions. But don’t just listen to me go on — it’s a brief little story of a friend talking to a friend — read it and decide for yourself!

Not Shakespeare but still a classic reflection of humans -- foolish and wise, damned and redeemed.
Worth the read and easy to read - a one of a kind set of life one-page epitaph, free-verse poems as spoken by Spoon River townspeople from beyond the grave. Lots to ponder. Best book Masters ever wrote Also made a great folk musical.
