Went above and beyond what any other ebay seller I've interacted with has done before. The items were packed extremely well and were as described. And to top it all off, there was a sweet, personal note inside. Just a fantastic experience.

A gem from the 1980's
As an afficianado of Simple Minds' early and middle periods this purchase was merely to replace the vinyl version which I keep for best. As a band that ignored the commercialism at the time and created their own world it stands the test of time even now some 20 years later. Titles like 'I Travel' and 'Capital City' illustrate their obsession with other worlds and cultures at the time and is evident through the use of train samples, station announcements and Jim Kerrs refrain "Europe has a language problem". Always remaining left of centre the listener boards a European train and is transported to a strange city with a trance-like backdrop of hollow drums, empty platforms and keyboard sounds straight from the Eastern Block. Strange, cold, genius. Where DID they go wrong.

A Must Have for Anyone Who Has Ever Liked Looking at Fonts
Steven Heller is already a regular on my bookshelf as I have a number of the European Deco titles. I have pondered over whether to own this book for a while now but having no images of the inside pages always feared that the cover would be the best thing about it. Well, luckily I was very wrong. It is a weighty tome that could double up as a door stop and the images of posters, artwork and A-Z layouts of various fonts and lettering fill each page and bleed to the edge. It is a feast for the eyes and for me, what made it worth it alone, were the signs of Art Deco and Modernism creeping into film titles, poster art and lettering. It is packed full of examples and will please anyone with even a hint of interest in graphic design, the mid-century era or lettering as an art form. Well worth the money.
