Poor heat generation & soldering tip

When first used it performed quite well but not long after the heat was not conducted well to the standard tip provided and the retaining screw seems to come loose quite often. Purchased a replacement tip but the same seemed to happen - just does not get hot enough for fast and careful soldering joints on model railway track. Will purchase a more expensive and branded iron.
