Executive Desk top Atlantis and 747
Yet another outstanding model from the people at Executive Desk top models.
This is my third, and is a fabulous addition to my growing Apollo/NASA, collection.
The detail is fabulous.
My only criticism, and this is not for this particular model but more for their older models.
Unfortunately, they don’t seem to make the Project Mercury or Gemini models anymore, or if they do you can’t find anyone who sells them.
And secondly, as a resident of the UK, the only way for me to get one of these models is from the US, which clearly adds more to the overall cost through Postage and Customs etc…
Overall though, I love these products

Moonfire
As a kid growing up during the 1960’s/70’s, I was always in awe of the sheer power and majesty of the Saturn V, rocket that carried man to the Moon, and to ultimately achieve the goal set to the staff at NASA, by the late JFK, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely back to earth by the end of the decade.
Since that time I’ve been lucky enough, certainly with the aid of the internet to build quite a substantial collection of books and outstanding models of the era.
Moonfire, by the renown author Norman Mailer, I have to say is a superb addition to my collection.
The pictures are absolutely brilliant, and although I’ve not read it fully at this point, what I have read gives a different perspective of the journey of Apollo 11.
Admittedly, this is a subject that has been covered on many occasions, but I guess that the difference this time was that Mailer, was the author who was selected by Time magazine to get close and personal with the Astronauts, even though up until taking that assignment he’d had very little interaction with the Space program.
In a nutshell, if you’re a space enthusiast, I’m probably suspecting that you won’t even be debating about whether to get this book.. b’coz like me you’ll just get it anyway.
But if you are, then just get it, I promise that you won’t be disappointed.
