1 of 1 found this helpful THIS IS THE ALTERNATIVE WEAPON I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! Using a regular gun is to risky. Lawyers, supervisors, red tape, possibility of injuring self, possibility of injuring an innocent, etc... Also a Taser can stop somebody's heart and kill them anyway. A pepper blaster is great to maintain control and distance. It allows you and the suspect to walk away unharmed, and also you have at least two shots in the event of a counterstrike. Is simple to use and easy to handle for a medium to a large hand. Just make sure it is allowed where you live and that you have a general training or sense on how to shoot it! DEFINITELY NOT A TOY. Keep out of reach of children for it can suffocate someone with breathing problems, specially a child with asthma. Great for one on one police work though and to avoid unnecessary deaths. However, a longer reaching shot for on the street, serious riot control would be required (at least 20 feet), as well as more than two shots. It can be a good animal attack deterrent as well. I made an intervention, and was attacked by a hog numerous times until I shot it away with the pepper blaster. Good for unexpected encounters in the wild. Any animal facing an irritant like this will simply run away and you will not harm it. Every park ranger should have one.
